Some people don't upload crafts to the website because they're scared of thieves. I think this community is not that toxic and we already have the link to the original craft if someone modifies an existing design.

But to make it even more robust why don just add a section in the xml code with the name of all the players that worked on the craft? Any time a new player works on that design his/her name is added to the list. I don't think lists are going to have more than 3 names and that may help to track the original maker if sometimes any drama happens.

@AndrewGarrison nice :) There's no need to rush it for 0.7 though

@pedro16797 There might be something we can do along these lines. Nothing will stop a motivated player, but it might help a bit.

Dev Notes: Store parentId in subassemblies. Append parentId to crafts when subassemblies are added.

@AndrewGarrison but not many users open the xml files. I got the idea from a Makers Muse video (a youtube channel about 3D printing) that suggested adding water marks in the .stl files

@pedro16797 It's very hard to prevent stealing. In this case, there's nothing to prevent the user from just deleting the <Users /> tag from the craft's XML.

@AndrewGarrison that's what I mean with "we already have a link[...]"
But I've been talking with some players that are afraid of someone stealing their crafts. I don't think that that's going to happen (we've never seen any case in all this months) but it's a measure to easily solve dramas that may be easy to implement.

The auto-credit is easy to notice, so in the hypothetical case of someone trying to steal a craft they will know the countermeasure and find a workaround to prevent the auto-credit (it's not that hard).

Since not many players care about xml this suggestion can help to prevent any drama in the future. I think it may easy to implement that any file saves the name of the user that made it, add the names of the users who edited it and also the names of the subassemblies used, and never delete any name.

I'm not sure if this should be a section in de code (something like <Users />) or just a comment

What about the auto-credit system that links posts together?
