On my way to Vulco, at the distance of Sergeaas orbit, my solar panels keep exploding (in career mode).
They are fully upgraded and the max heat shield is applied (72?). Even though they are in the shadow of the fuel tank - one solar panel is getting about 25% pointing efficiency and taking heat damage. I tried several things, it keeps happening again and again. I don't think this is intended behaviour, is it?
Screenshot 1 is the location of where it happens. Screenshot 2 is the craft in the position it happens.

@Toinkove I don't care if it weights more or cost more. I'm fine with that as long as I have the option to use some solution to actually go to the inner planets.
BTW 250°C is no temperature a good solar panel should explode at and take out a whole space craft.

Yes the “Solar panel arrays” do Not Heat up as much as the regular “solar Panels” but this actually shouldn’t be the case! Something has changed in how the solar panels heat up since Game Version 0.9.9. Some players are actually having the regular solar panels take damage and explode in high droo Orbits where they didn’t before recent updates! The solar Panel arrays perform much better and behave more like they used too but will still prolly Break in a Sergeaa orbit.

Well it used to be case that if you were sending a probe to the inner planets you needed to increase the heat tolerance using the tinker panel! So this over heating Dynamic isn’t new at all. Obviously with career mode now you can’t use tinker Panel so what is really needed now is a new option for more Heat resistant panels. They may cost more and have more mass BUT, that wouldn’t be to unrealistic as this is an actual issues faced by probes being sent that close to the sun! BTW Heat shield coating isn’t really a good Option here because the coating slowly strips away and eventually you’ll still end up taking damage! Heat shield coating is great for Brief high temperatures like that during reentry but not really for high sustained temperatures!

@Toinkove I know it is closer to the sun and hence they heat up more. That's why I applied FULL MAXIMAL heat shielding to the panels and they are FULLY upgraded. That is as much as I can do, since all the Techs are unlocked that help me do that.
I mean that would be a terrible design choice, if going to Sergeaa or Vulco is impossible since exploding solar panels keep destroying the crafts.
But do I understand that solar panel arrays have a better chance of surviving? And I don't mean closed, because I want to use them for engery production.

Right now the problem is: the "solar panels" heat up much more then the "solar panel arrays" do (at an equal distance from the sun) and they are heating up too damaging temperatures much further away from the sun then they used to. In some cases the may reach damaging temperatures even in Droo orbit.

Actually when around Sergeea they should overheat and break! (above 260 C they begin to take damage) this was always true as you are so much closer to the sun. The problem is you just need more heat resistance for panels going to the inner planets!
