There are a couple of scenarios that could use this: capturing a payload with a robotic arm and then moving it into position to dock with the actual docking port, using a robotic arm to move modules of a space station around.

This would definitely be useful, especially offloading a station part from a shuttle and connecting to a station and maybe even with the shuttle docked too. It's a solid suggestion.

In case it wasn't obvious I'm talking about in flight, not in the designer (since it is already possible there).
