Piloting is confusing, especially if you're coming over from KSP or flight simulators. That's because the nav circles have two problems. One: They have only two axes instead of three, so you can easily find yourself in a position where it is difficult to change your direction the way you want (if you're pointed near the zenith, to be specific), and Two: they are a radically different control scheme with WASDQE compared to a normal flight control setup.

One of the most important features for my enjoyment of the game is more Kerbal-like controls, even if just an option. WASDQE will actually pitch, roll, and yaw the craft instead of rotating its altitude and azimuth. For kraken's sake, it's a spaceship, not a dobsonian telescope :P

@AndrewGarrison Perhaps, but for example, SAS in Kerbal will prevent drift in yaw and roll while controlling pitch, or yaw and pitch when controlling yaw.

@Gregrox Perhaps the craft should just respond normally to QWASDE while inputs are active and when they stop then the craft should re-lock the heading at that point?

@AndrewGarrison I discovered this. However, it would be very helpful to have a heading lock mode that still lets you use QWASDE without toggling it on and off constantly.

As long as the player unlocks their heading they can control with WASDQE.
