There are two suggestions sort of like this, but they do not seem to cover a few things.
Maintain horizon line - kind of like the orbit ball, but it actually works.
GPS coordinates - Go to XYZ coords at A altitude, then go to XYZ coords and B altitude.
Steady flight - Like a maintain horizon line, but keeps the plane stable. (Could be good for a steady climb rate.)
