Every 7 minutes at full thrust, a jet engine will take random damage, if it take to much damage, it will flame-out (ignitable at a certain speed after a certain time) or will have a disk failure (with shrapnels flying in every direction, destroying everything on its path). Wear damage frequency will be exponentially proportional to the engine thrust.

Bonus: compressor stalls if the airflow is disturbed (eg: rapid change in AOA) or if fuel is contaminated.
