Auto Credit Based on GrayStar's Defcon
A strange object.It often acts like an asteroid, but sometimes has strong comet-like activity.
Under normal conditions, the brightness is about 13mag, which can only be observed by a telescope above 150mm, but when it is active, the brightness may reach 9-8mag, and in extreme cases, it may brighten to 6-5mag. In this case, the comet and it’s coma can be observed with the naked eye, and sometimes the tail can be observed through the telescope.
The data shows that it has a huge nucleus (about 125km) and an extremely low orbital eccentricity. It may be that objects outside the Katas orbit are perturbated into the outer solar system and stabilize in the current orbit through the gravitational pull of gas giants.
