Billions of years ago, an Earth sized planet collided with Nyx. This collision formed the moon Ceto and its siblings. Ceto formed close to its parent planet, and as a consequence lost most of its hydrogen. What now remains of the former gas moon is its dense core composed primarily of rock and water.
The gradual reduction of Ceto’s atmosphere has cooled its surface to the point where oceans of liquid hydrogen can exist on its surface. The atmosphere remains thick enough to allow for H2 oceans to exist. These oceans may not endure for another million years since Nyx continues to pull away this world’s hydrogen atmosphere. For now, refugees and outlaws can benefit from the sale of this readily available liquid H2.
