Cerratrune

[OVERVIEW]:

Exposition

Cerratrune is the third submoon of Torreah, as well as the biggest. It is a large, hot yet cool, type-M asteroid with an inclined and eccentric orbit. Cerratrune, like the other asteroid moons, is similar in composition. There is also some haze above the surface, giving it a false impression that there is an atmosphere. Numerous cracks and ravines snake the surface. There is a large equatorial ridge that is thought to have formed from the rings. Acknowledging its size, it may explain the rings' proximity and faintness.

Hippa Quarry

Hippa Quary is a small surface settlement situated near a great mineral deposit, overlooking a large ravine. There is a small docking pad for exports and imports, as well as an assembly building, a processor, refineries, and various other machines and buildings. It also offers breathtaking views of both Arkkanna and Torreah, and as such, there are a few designated locations for viewing them. (I am aware that, in the presence of intergalactic powerful aliens, this is primitive. However, I made this nearly two years ago; it should be evident that things have changed.)

History

It is similar in composition to another submoon, Cherulan. However, given the erratic orbit of Cerratrune, this is quite bizarre. The leading theory is that Cerratrune was an asteroid that orbited Arkkanna in the not-so distant past. Over time, gravitational influence from a neighboring Arkkannian moon, Vortís, captured the moon, then ejected it. Cerratrune was eventually captured by Torreah, thanks to the gravity assist provided by Vortís.

Dust

Now captured, it collected some of the particles and materials from Torreah's rings, giving it an irregular equatorial ridge, as well as faint rings and a haze across the surface. Most of the dust has settled in and near the cracks, where the dust is more compacted and forming a relatively thicker haze akin to that of a tenuous atmosphere.
