At 1.5 AU, this gas giant is defined by brilliant white bands of water-ice clouds, sculpted by high-velocity jet streams. Between these bright layers, the atmosphere reveals a deep, saturated azure hue. While intense solar UV radiation constantly dissociates methane in the upper layers, the resulting fragments sink into the planet’s scorching interior, where extreme heat and pressure reconstitute them. This recycled methane is then thrust back to the surface by powerful convection, where it acts as a spectral filter, absorbing red light to maintain the planet's dark, sapphire-colored depths.
