Tarvos, the biggest planet in the solar system is a gas giant lacking a well-defined solid surface. It's thick atmosphere is primarily molecular hydrogen and helium, with trace amounts of methane, ammonia, and water vapor that create distinct cloud layers.
Moving toward the center, the atmospheric pressure becomes so intense that hydrogen is compressed into a metallic state, which conducts electricity and generates a powerful magnetic field.
Despite it's size, the planet rotates very quickly. This high-speed rotation flattens the planet at the poles and drives violent, long-lasting storm systems and high-velocity "jet stream" winds.
It's large mass creates a challenge for any craft in it's gravity well.
The reddish-brown rings are given by radiation from the planet's intense magnetic field which hits methane ice on ring particles, creating tholins— organic compounds.
