Rix is a large ice giant named after a mythical monster in Puriin Mythos. It is the second largest gas giant in the system and despite the distance, it is the 5th planet orbiting Palen (designation: Ludwig-94135) to be discovered by mankind, giving it the designation of Ludwig-94135 e.

The name of the planet originates from the old Conterkiian monster of myth and is said to terrorize ships in the Triplex Sea. Rix is one of the most beautiful planets in the Palen system, catching the sights of researchers and tourists alike. Rix has 4 major moons, and 21 minor moons, with more being discovered day by day as the gas giant is further charted. The planet also boasts an eye-catching ring system that is made of ice, possibly from an older moon that entered its Roche limit long ago. .

The atmospheric composition (at 1 atm) is 79% H2, 16% He, 3% CH4, and 1% NH3, with trace amounts of HD, H2S, and NH4HS being present. This gives the planet a roughly similar composition to the planet Neptune from Sol, albeit with some noticeable differences. Rix is also the coldest planet in the system, having an average temperature of about -199 degrees Celsius, and receives approximately 2.3 Watts per square meter, albeit about 28% is reflected.
