Drazkul was a rogue planetary body, likely a captured moon or a wandering object ejected from the outer reaches of the Varnar System. Roughly a billion years ago, it spiraled inward on a decaying retrograde orbit until it collided head-on with Veltruna.
The impact obliterated a quarter of Veltruna’s crust, vaporized oceans, triggered a planetwide firestorm, and caused the atmospheric collapse. Most of Drazkul disintegrated upon impact, but some fragments now orbit Veltruna as the Drazkul Debris Ring, while others remain embedded within Veltruna’s crust — visible as dark, dense core rocks among glowing tectonic cracks
