A G1 spectral type main-sequence star (G1V) that converts hydrogen to helium in its core by means of nuclear fusion. It's white color is given by it's temperature which is ~ 5850 k.
Unlike hotter (blue) or cooler (orange-red) stars, the lifespan of this type of star is aprox 10 billion years. Sufficient time for the solar system to form properly and life to evolve if the conditions are right.

In Juno the star defines the characteristics of a solar system trough it's radius and surface gravity.
Irilia is created to give a 2:1 scale of our solar system in terms of distance (a planet has a one year orbit at a distance of 0.5 AU).
The orbital speed of a celestial body at a distance of 0.5 AU is 14 800 m/s (half of what Earth has at 1 AU).
At a distance of 1000 million km (the game's map limit) a celestial body finishes a full orbit in 50 years.If I would have increased the star's properties to have Earth's conditions (one year orbit at a distance of 1 AU with a speed of 29 700 m/s) the map limit would have allowed for a celestial body to finish a full orbit in maximum 19 years.
