Submission deadline has passed! Thank you to all the builders who have submitted. Results have been uploaded.
Your task is to build, test, and upload a cargo aircraft that meets all the following criteria below. The aircraft you construct must meet the criteria to the best of your ability. Your build will be tested to its limit. Each and every valid entry will go through multiple tests to determine flight performance, along as being graded on visual aesthetic.
1ST PLACE - Gets their build featured on front page AND $25 gift card or steam key(s) to game(s) of their choice - $25 max.
2ND PLACE - $15 gift card or steam key(s) to game(s) of their choice - $15 max.
3RD PLACE - $10 gift card or steam key(s) to game(s) of their choice - $10 max.
Build rules
The craft must be a successor to this post. (In order to do this, download this post and use the command chip to start your build. You can swap what type of control module you use, but you CANNOT use the “new build” function, or it will not work.)
Part count must be at least 100 parts. Anything under is a disqualification.
The aircraft handling must be realistic! submissions with unrealistic handling will get a point deduction.
The aircraft must be original. No reuploading past builds as a submission.
Helicopters and prop driven crafts are allowed. No, you are not allowed to XML edit the torque or max RPM on electric motors.
Replicas are allowed not recommended, as fictional designs get a point bonus.
The ONLY XML values you are allowed to edit are Part Collisions, Collision response, Wing occlusion and Engine occlusion. Every other value edit is strictly prohibited. The only exception to this rule is scaling text labels. Submissions breaking this rule will be disqualified.
Modded parts and builds are strictly prohibited. Mods used to help in the design process (such as designer tools and toolkit for android) are exempt from this rule. Use of every other example of modded parts will result in a disqualification.
ONE submission per user. If you upload more than one, you must disclose which one you will enter into the challenge before the deadline. Otherwise one build will be randomly chosen.
Collaborative builds are not allowed. This challenge is one of personal ability. Any builds found to have been made by more than one participant will be instantly disqualified.
DISCLAIMER: All builds will be judged in the newest version of the game. Make sure the parts you use are within the current version of the game as older parts are heavier and will hinder performance.
Judging
REALISM 10 PTS
Is the design plausible? Is the flight model grounded in reality? Replicas can only get a max. score of 5 in this area. Sci-fi themed builds will NOT experience a point reduction in this area if the controls are deemed friendly to use.
OVERALL APPERANCE/BUILD QUALITY - 10 PTS
Are there visible gaps, nice details, use of part efficiency/smart building techniques etc.
FLIGHT TEST 10 PTS
How does the plane perform in a regular length flight? Is it stable? Is it compatible with the autopilot? Is it easy to take off/land etc.
FEATURES - 10 PTS
Does it have functional features like spoilers, an accessible cargo bay, flaps, ramp, etc.
good luck.

when will the results be published?
Nvm I fixed it
@Mostly I tried submitting my build under the challenge but I had difficulty doing so, so here is the link to my airlifter- https://www.simplerockets.com/c/594586/Douglas-C-4X-Heavy-Airlifter
@Mostly hey just looking at my build, I submitted the wrong save, can I submit again? Messed up the elevator control it was an old build version forgot to invert the control surfaces
@Mostly Alright, thank you, my build will not disappoint
@Halting I will make an exception for your submission if you can get it in before this wednesday. Judging and grading will take a while, i'm not expecting it to be done in any less than a week, but get it done asap if you can.
Well, I got about 90% of the plane finished, I just need to make a cockpit (exterior) and the nose. I might be Able to squeeze it under the deadline, if not probably the day after if allotted.
@Mostly
How much time would you think you need to finish? @Halting
If I run out of time, would you like me to just submit what I have? My build is taking much longer than I expected, which is largely due to my inexperience and trying to figure out how to make things work.
@Mostly ok
@StarmanG100 please refer to previous comment
@Mostly speaking of which, are spacecraft/rockets allowed?
I wouldve probably joined if version 1.1 had come out on mobile and all i knew how to build not-rocket
@Mostly well I guess the ugly shadows are staying
@Mostly Welp. I'm just gonna use this as an excuse to build something. I won't be offended if I get disqualified.
@KellyNyanbinary It depends on how far or little the sci-fi aspects are pushed, but generally no. When referring to sci-fi I mean something like halo, star wars, eve, etc.
@unimaginablekatana No, the list of allowed XML values in the rules are the only ones that are allowed to be used.
also can I remove shadows from the wings since they look bad
@Mostly are custom lights allowed (by that I mean fuel tanks or struts edited in xml to be beacons) I'm asking since beacons in game are not really that shape customizable
atleast not to my knowledge
@Mostly So a reusable lifting body surface to orbit cargo shuttle is allowed.
@KellyNyanbinary Aircraft, not spacecraft. The exception to this rule is sci-fi themed builds, in which case should be able to fly in atmosphere as well.
Good luck to you all on this challenge 😊👍
i dont know if disable shadows is allowed so i just let the werid shadows
Can cargo jet into space
@Jerba No, XML editing mass on any part is prohibited.
