LX-203 Raven, the JL way to sustainable aviation

The Raven is a twin engined turboprop developed in parallel to the more conventional LX-303 Condor. Thus, it also shares much of the systems and design filosophy. However, it flies using liquid hydrogen as opposed to jet fuel.

Features:

Our new Dark JL Livery
Custom cockpit
Advanced autopilot (read instructions!)
Fully automated stabilizer trim
Custom propellors
Custom landing gear
Cabin with toilet
A shitload of lights
A shitload of cameras

Instructions

Inputs

* Pitch Yaw Roll all the same
* Slider 1 up/down for flaps up/down.
* 0 or above for takeoff config
* below 0 for landing config
* Slider 3 for camera zoom

Automatics

* AGs for the different autopilot settings are labelled
* If you wish to change an autopilot setting, you deactivate and activate the AG again and input the input you want
* When you wish to cancel an input, make sure to disable the AG, otherwise your input will be 0. This can give some unwanted circumstances
* The autopilot needs some time to stabilise, so take into account that it might overshoot and oscillate slightly.
* Note that a speed will be selected when you click ALT select, if you haven't chosen one yourself already. You can still override this by selecting another speed yourself
* You can also fly it using the cockpit and selecting the buttons (as seen in this video of the Condor)
* Sadly the automatics don't work when you're flying as a drood, use the Cockpit/Captain/Co-pilot view instead.

Intended use (typical flight)

How I personally would fly the plane, you can do something different if you want :)

Can be flown from both Cockpit/Captain/Co-pilot view or external view.

On the ground

Firstly activate the engines (AG1). Lights (AG 4 and AG7) are optional if your device allows for it.

Before takeoff

Gently taxi (not exceeding 25m/s) to the runway if you are not already there. Put the flaps (slider1) in takeoff position, between 0% and +50%. 0% is the default setting, so it already spawns in at takeoff setting.

Takeoff

Throttle it up! Keep the plane centered using yaw gently. Once you reach about 65m/s, start your takeoff rotation. Make sure you don't hit your tail, however, incase of a tailstrike there is a tail skid to save your life.

After takeoff

After takeoff, engage autothrottle (AG5) and set it to 110m/s (IAS). Retract the gear (disable AG8) and the flaps (slider 1 to +100%).

Climb

Select cruising altitude using ALT select (AG2).
Select heading using HDG select (AG6). There may be a slight delay on the selection menu.
Depending on your cruise altitude you may need to increase (High altitude flight) or decrease (Low altitude high speed flight) your autothrottle setting (Disable and re-enable AG5).
Use Vertical speed mode (AG3) if you want to climb with a constant climb rate (optional). Will automatically level off if ALT select is engaged.

Cruise

After the plane levelled off you can chill! If you wish to adjust heading, altitude or speed, just change it according autopilot setting

Descent

To descend, set altitude to around 1000 above ground, mind that you have to input a value ASL so you have to account for terrain elevation especially when flying over mountainous terrain.

Approach

When approaching your destination, slow down (set spd 70m/s ish) and extend flaps (slider 1 to 0%).
Disable heading mode (deactivate AG6) and line yourself up with the runway and lower your landing gear (AG8). Disengage altitude mode (disable AG2 and AG3).
Extend flaps fully (slider 1 to -100%)
Set autothrottle to 50m/s
Slowly descend to the runway

Landing

When you're almost at the runway, disable autothrottle and cut throttle back to idle (0%).
Gently touch down and brake to a halt
Don't throttle up as there is no reverse thrust

After landing

Taxi to your destination, open the doors and disembark.
Congratulations! Yet another successful flight.

Lore:

Welcome the future of eco-friendly regional aviation with the LX-203 Raven, a cutting-edge turboprop designed to combine exceptional performance and sustainability.

Great Performance:

The Raven's large turboprops deliver thrust right from the get go, while the extensive flaps and slats enhance low-speed flight, enabling smooth takeoffs and landings from short runways, remote and high-altitude airports. Because of its light design, the manoeuverability, max speed and range are positively impacted.

Advanced Automation:

The LX-203 Raven, just like the Condor, is equipped with brand new in-house designed automated systems, featuring Hdg mode, Vertical speed and open climb mode, autothrottle and a custom fly by wire, reducing pilot workload and enhancing the flight experience. (Read instructions for proper use)

LX Comfort by FreeSkyAerospace:

And of course the interior would not be finished with the lovely cabin by FreeSkyAerospace, with lovely features and comfortable lighting for relaxation. Whether you're travelling in Luxury class or Economy, a smooth ride is guaranteed for all passengers.

Stunning views

Other than looking out the window, you can now also enjoy all the different camera angles we have to offer on this plane. Change your point of view and have a look!

Brighten up

If your device allows for it, please try to turn on the lights. They make for a great experience flying this jet at night. If performance issues show up, disable interior lights when you are flying from an outside perspective, or disable them alltogether.
