Tactics and Doctrine
The F-4C should NOT be used for its maneuverability, that isn't it's strongest field. It should be used at high altitudes (10-18km), far away from the front lines (75km or more), and using the powerful engines to cruise between Mach 0.8 and 1.5. Once you have a target designated within range, turn towards them, launch your missile, then turn away. Let your missiles do the rest of the heavy lifting.
The biggest weak spot in the F-4C is close-in targets, where the F-4C tends to struggle in dogfights. do not let yourself get to the merge for this reason, even though Equipment Refresh 3 is the most maneuverable variant.
In the event you get into a close fight, use your AAM-10s to neutralize a threat. Don't worry about minimum range, the AAM-10 can turn up to 135°/s while burning and is extremely hard to counter.
In the event you are fired upon (SAM or otherwise), dive down towards the surface in full afterburner. Be careful not to hit the ground. If the missile hadn't been forced into the ground yet, defend AWAY from it, making hard turns until CLAWS stops beeping. Then recommit vertically to avoid flying straight into the missiles path.
Your loiter time is 45 minutes on internal fuel (Mach 0.8/12km) before you run out and need to return to base. Use this time to support your team as much as possible.

Missile Specifications
Rokugou Systems AAM-33A-3 "Skybolt" (6x)
the AAM-33A-3 "Skybolt" is Rokugou Systems' replacement of the AAM-35C-4 "Spearhead", providing much more capability in a much smaller and lighter performance bracket. it should be treated exactly like an AMRAAM, as it performs extremely similar to such. it's rangeband is 5-170km, however was not tested very extensively. take that with a grain of salt and stay within 120km.
Triton Aerospace AAM-10 (2x)
The AAM-10 is Triton Aerospace's go-to missile within 15km range for any threat. Cruise missiles at low altitude? Check. Bombers at high altitude? Check. An enemy fighter on your tail? Check. The AAM-10 pulls 135°/s while burning, and it has an extremely high probability of hit. This should be used in a defensive position only, however, as you only get two internally. It's a very draggy missile, however this doesnt matter as it's not intended to be used beyond 15km in range.
Systems Information
Flare ECM pods are intended to be removed sooner or later. If I'm being totally honest, they just take up precious part space.
EOTS can be controlled by targeting a craft or structure, then enabling the labeled EOTS activation group. You can then switch to the auto-slaved cameras and look at your target. Zoom can be adjusted with slider 1. you can now also use translation mode to move your target position around on the ground.
Cautions and Warnings
- Warning: at high mach, FCS may induce wobbling. beware when approaching top speed at low altitudes.
- Caution: Playing at low FPS (20 and below) can cause FCS instabilities.
- Caution: Beware of missiles separating from their weapon bays.
That's most of the important stuff. Happy Hunting, Squad!
