That's right, lore. Revolving around Droods, and their Cylero-dwelling counterpart, Cyleriads. At first allies in hominization of the Ulysses Star Cluster, their hunger for power made them turn on each other in one of the largest, bloodiest, and longest-lasting war history has witnessed.
